Premier League Primary Stars -A national curriculum-linked education programme (free resources)

Premier League Primary Stars was launched in March 2017 with the ambition to engage 10,000 schools by 2019. Since then the programme has already engaged more than 15,000 primary schools in England and Wales.

Last October the Premier League Writing Stars campaign was rolled out to schools as part of the Primary Stars literary resources. This competition asked children to write a poem about resilience. The response was overwhelming as more than 25,000 five to eleven-year-olds put pen to paper to write about giving an insight to what resilience means to them. The winning and highly commended entries have been published in a limited-edition poetry book: ‘Try, Try Again’.

The competition was backed by an all-star judging panel including Chelsea and England legend Frank Lampard, Everton FC footballer Yannick Bolasie, Charlie & Lola author-illustrator Lauren Child and young people’s poet Caleb Femi.

Winners of the competition.

The book also features poems written by friends of Premier League Primary Stars which include TV presenter Ben Shephard and Premier League Champion Alan Shearer.
