BRICKLIVE Fantasy Kingdom – Lego Display Review, Cardiff

BRICKLIVE Fantasy Kingdom

The Welsh Mummy Blogs family were invited to BRICKLIVE Fantasy Kingdom. #ad-gifted #review

On Saturday August 3rd, the Welsh Mummy Blogs family headed to the Mermaid Quay, Cardiff. We had been invited to review the BRICKLIVE Fantasy Kingdom Lego display, which is located in Tacoma Square, in the heart of Mermaid Quay.

Although smaller than I’d imagined, the display was very impressive. The display featured an 11ft fire-breathing dragon, a unicorn and two hunting wolves. There was also a wizard, princess, knight and hunts-woman. Collectively the models took over 2,000 hours to build.

10 cute dragon whelps (baby dragons) were displayed in the various businesses in Mermaid Quay. We only found two shops displaying the dragons, however, I am sure if we looked harder we would of come across more!

At the heart of the display you will find a throne. The throne is laid in shimmering silk and is encrusted with the finest LEGO brick rubies, emeralds and sapphires. Visitors are invited to sit and take selfies on the throne, Mermaid Quay will be running a weekly photo competition to crown a Selfie King or Queen each week. (FREE ice cream for a year from Cadwaladers, Mermaid Quay is the weekly prize).

BRICKLIVE Fantasy Kingdom

Unfortunately, the Wizard was not on display. A sign suggested that the Wizard was coming soon.

After a walk around the display, we headed to Carluccio’s.

BRICKLIVE Fantasy Kingdom

Carluccio’s is located in the heart of Mermaid Quay, Its the ideal destination for a leisurely breakfast or a quick coffee and pastry on the run. Carluccio’s offers an all day Italian food shop and deli, it’s also the place to be if you are looking for a celebratory three-course meal with wine.

We were kindly gifted an afternoon tea for 8. My eldest enjoyed a rather large cookie, my youngest settled on 2 scoops of ice-cream without the wafer (the staff were very helpful when it came to choosing a gluten free dessert). My niece liked the look of a giant raspberry meringue, I tried a very flavoursome passion fruit and lemon sorbet and my mother in law, sister in law and Welsh Daddy enjoyed a raspberry and almond tart.

The desserts were an absolute delight on taste-buds! The drinks were just as good! I had a black coffee, the children had apple juice, my brother in law opted for the very moreish hot chocolate and everyone else enjoyed a pot of tea.

I would love to go back and review the dinner menu.

We absolutely loved the BRICKLIVE Fantasy Kingdom! The FREE display is on until –  Sunday 1st September!
