Sunday the Welsh Mummy Blogs family experienced Milkshake! Live on stage. I had kept it a secret from my boys (age 4 & 2) that we were attending. They are big fans of Milkshake! We watch the show every morning whilst eating our breakfast and getting ready for school.
We were to watch the talented Milkshake! presenters at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay.

As soon as we entered the theatre and the curtain pulled back the boy’s faces lit up!! Milkshake! Monkey!! The audience roared!! The atmosphere was simply amazing!
Taking the audience on a journey through the world’s favourite fairy tales, the Milkshake! presenters did a fantastic job of keeping little ones entertained as we explored some popular fairy tales.
Favourites such as; Bob the Builder, Little Princess, Noddy, Fireman Sam, Shimmer & Shine, Pip from Pip Ahoy!, Winnie and Wilbur and Wissper were cleverly entwined into the classic fairy tales that were performed on stage.
With each new fairy tale, out pops a new character and the kids go wild! The cheering was loud, you could feel vibration of excitement in the room.
The Milkshake! presenters were great, they had so much energy. I felt out of breath just watching them dance and portray different characters for each changing fairy tale and scene. They really encouraged the children to get up and dance (and mums and dads!), they added a touch of panto to some stories which only added to the excitement.
As with all of my reviews I am 100% honest, I would say that the theatre can be a very busy place so it may be a little overwhelming for some children: I would also add that I felt it more suitable for those over 4. My two year old son only stayed to watch an hour as he was getting unsettled however, saying that he has not stopped talking about seeing the real fireman Sam and Bob the builder!
This show is really not to be missed! Details of future performances can be found below.
