What a great time I have been having recently at the Cardiff Open Air Theatre Festival, I have had a good giggle at ‘Allo ‘Allo, been wooed by Romeo at Romeo & Juliet and now it was the kids turn to experience Peter Pan on stage.
My four-year old son has been obsessed with Disney’s Peter Pan for sometime and when I told him we were to see him live on stage he was ecstatic.
The theatre was full of happy children with beaming smiles all ready to see what enchantment awaited them.
As soon as the music started and the colourful fairies came on to the stage my son was fixated. Acting out Peter Pan these young actors were a pleasure to watch. The story was that of Disney’s Peter Pan condensed down to a one hour performance perfect for little ones.
I was very impressed with the music, choreography and interactive stage which included bubbles and clouds.
My son really enjoyed the show and wanted more, his favourite part was the Indians song and dance to ‘what makes the brave man brave’ we sang this most of the way home.
We caught up with the cast after the show
Peter Pan is at The Cardiff Open Air Theatre until July 30th
