2018 Celebrity Cup at Celtic Manor – Cheer on Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden

I am thrilled to be attending the 2018 Celebrity Cup at Celtic Manor this year. Stars such as Ronan Keating, Bradley Walsh, James Nesbitt and Mrs Browns Boys creator and star, Brendan O’Carroll will be competing on the Golf course from 30th June – 1st July.

The 2018 Celebrity Cup sponsored by Bulmers will boast a host of stars representing their home nations of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Many familiar faces will return to the event in 2018, together with an array of new celebrity names.

Television personality Bradley Walsh and rugby stars Greig Laidlaw and Mike Tindall are the latest stars to sign up for the Celebrity Cup this summer.

Walsh and Tindall were all part of the England team which won the star-studded event at Celtic Manor in 2017 and they will be keen to keep their hands on the trophy when battle is resumed on 30th June – 1st July.

Team England

Actor, comedian, presenter and singer Walsh will lead that defence of the title as he steps up to team captaincy duties for the first time. The Chase quiz show host has been a frequent guest at Celtic Manor in recent weeks as he spent time in Wales filming for the next series of Doctor Who.

Bradley said: “I’ve had a great time filming in Wales but unfortunately I’ve been too busy to spend too much time improving my golf on the driving range at Celtic Manor.
“We all enjoy playing in the Celebrity Cup and it was a real thrill to help Team England win the trophy last year. I’m delighted to be taking over as captain but I definitely feel under pressure to make sure I lead the team to victory again.”

Current Scotland and Lions rugby star Laidlaw joins some of his former team-mates already announced for this year’s Scottish team – Thom Evans, Max Evans, and Rory Lawson.

Team Scotland

Other stars returning for the annual showdown include Mrs Brown’s Boys star and creator Brendan O’Carroll and singing superstars Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden for Team Ireland.

Team Ireland

The first names on the team sheet for home side Wales are rugby star turned TV pundit Jonathan Davies and TV presenter Gethin Jones.

Actor and comedian Rob Brydon, who has captained the Wales team for the past five years since the inception of the Celebrity Cup, has unfortunately had to withdraw from this year’s event because of work commitments.

Team Wales

Thousands of golf fans and celebrity spotters will flock to Celtic Manor to watch the Celebrity Cup from 30th June-1st July. As well as top-notch golfing action and on and off-course banter, there will be live music and food and bar outlets in the tented village.

Visitors can also experience the VIP treatment in Hospitality or at Saturday evening’s glittering Gala Dinner.
