This year I am interviewing Welsh bloggers – Mumma in Training

With so many high profile bloggers out there, we may forget some of the amazing Welsh bloggers who are closer to home.

Today I interview Steph who is the author of Mumma in Training.

  • Please tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m Steph, a mummy and lifestyle blogger over at Mumma in Training. I have a passion for writing, so started my blog when I was 16 weeks pregnant, suddenly finding myself in a scenario that millions of other women and families do. I live in Cwmbran with my husband and son, who was born in October 2017. When I’m not blogging in my spare time, I’m a part-time Marketing Exec at a slipper and loungewear company based in Newport. I enjoy swimming, taking day-trips with my family and cooking (although I’m not Nigella).
  • What is your blog about?
Mumma in Training basically follows my honest, crazy parenting journey highlighting the ups and downs that come with it. I write about personal experiences (for other parents to relate to) and review products and services. I only review products/services that I would personally recommend.

  • What/who inspired you to start a blog?
When I found out I was pregnant, I was constantly watching YouTube and reading blogs to see how my symptoms compared to others. I had always wanted to set up a blog, but never knew what to write about. Pregnancy and being a parent was something that almost everyone could relate to, so seemed like the obvious choice to me. Now people in a similar situation to me, back when I found out I was pregnant, can read my blog and relate to it.
  • What challenges have you faced whilst blogging?
I think the biggest challenge about blogging, for me, has been finding the confidence to share very personal stories and moments. Particularly on social media, knowing that friends and family could potentially be seeing it. But you know what, if my posts help another person in a similar situation, it makes it all worthwhile.
  • What are your 2019 blogging goals?
My main 2019 blogging goal is to get my blog out in front of more people, not just for my sake, but for theirs too. I want people to know they’re not alone on this rollercoaster ride that is parenthood. I found that knowing other people are going through the same as me, a breath of fresh air.
