Welsh Mummy Blogs interviews Welsh blogger, Shift Working Mum

With so many high profile bloggers out there, we may forget some of the amazing Welsh bloggers who are closer to home.

Welsh Mummy Blogs is interviewing Welsh bloggers. New and old, all bloggers discuss their 2019 goals and the challenges of blogging.

Hello Shift Working Mum, please tell us a little bit about yourself, your family, why you started blogging and your challenges and goals for 2019.

I am 36 yrs old. I work as an Emergency Medicine Doctor in South Wales. I am currently off work on maternity leave. I like to stay semi anonymous as I don’t want my patients at work to recognise me, I want to be able to keep things separate and stay professional.

I have three children Sprout is a four year old boy and my girls Pea is 2 and Beansprout is 7 months.

I live with my husband and children, and my parents on a small holding. All four of us own the small holding but my parents do the majority of the work. We have sheep. geese and chickens. We are in the process of building a four bed annex to the main house so that we can live separate from my parents.
I started blogging in July 2018 to raise a bit more money to fund the building work and I am really enjoying it. Not made much more than pennies yet though. I would love to be able to have a passive income so that I can reduce my hours at work and spend more time with the kids. A full time job as doctor equate to 48hrs per week so I want to reduce this.
I blog about parenting and bullet journalling. I try to pass on some of my experiences of having three young children. I also have a few job related posts. I am thinking about having a series of posts about common childhood illnesses (from a parents perspective, non-medical jargon).
I haven’t faced many challenges in blogging. My husband has been supportive.
My 2019 blogging goals are to start making some proper money.
