Welsh Mummy Blogs interviews Welsh blogger, Mummy Fever

With so many high profile bloggers out there, we may forget some of the amazing Welsh bloggers who are closer to home.

Welsh Mummy Blogs is interviewing Welsh bloggers. New and old, all bloggers discuss their 2019 goals and the challenges of blogging.

Hello Mummy Fever!!

  • Please tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m Charlotte, I live in North Wales with my partner and 4 children. 1 girl aged 12 and 3 boys aged, 10, 5 and 4. My background is strategic planning and research in children and families services. I set up as a freelance consultant in 2009, after my maternity leave ended with my second child and I realised I was paying an obscene amount of money for someone else to look after my children. My children needed a better balance. Working from home is not the easy option but it’s the best balance for my family.

The last 3 years have been much more blog and much less consultancy as funding in the sector decreased. I’ve made my blog my job now which fits around the needs of my family.

  • What is your blog about?

Primarily parenting, lifestyle and family travel.

  • What/who inspired you to start a blog?

It took me a few years to figure out my blog and what exactly I wanted it to be. I think it was more an evolving process rather than initial inspiration.

  • What challenges have you faced whilst blogging?

Lots of people certainly don’t see it as a serious job. I get lots of comments like “have you still got your little blog thingy?” or “what is it you do again?” . I’m getting better at brushing them off. Other challenges are probably time related, I have a tiny amount of child-free time every day so trying to get to grips with the more complex design stuff or making big changes can be tricky.

  • What are your 2019 blogging goals?

Mainly growth related and narrowing my niche I think. My youngest child will be starting full time school in September, so I’m planning the big changes for then really when there is more time.

  • What are your social media links?

If you are a Welsh blogger I would love to feature you on my blog! Please get in touch via the Contact Me page.
