Fancy Abseiling down the Wales Millennium Centre?? Fundraiser & Family Fun Day

Wales Millennium Centre

This is a voluntary post on behalf of the Wales Millennium Centre.

On Saturday 8th June, members of the public and staff at Wales Millennium Centre are taking on an enormous challenge and abseiling down The Centre’s iconic building, all in aid to raise money for charity.

The Centre is a registered charity ( charity number – 1060458) and through financial support, is able to give young people in Wales opportunities and access to the arts that they may otherwise not have.

Also featured on the day will be music from Radio Platfform, food and drink from the coffee shops and bars, face painting and an array of free activities for kids and families.

Want to get involved??

I have been informed that there is a few spaces left!!

To make this once in a lifetime descent down Wales Millennium Centre in the heart of Cardiff Bay, a registration fee of £25 will be required at the time of booking with an additional target of £200 to fund-raise ahead of the event.

For those taking part, the abseil will happen in two locations on our building: the smaller line runs down our slate wall which overlooks the Roald Dahl Plas, and the larger line runs down our famous inscription ‘Creu Gwir Fel Gwydr O Ffwrnais Awen – In These Stones Horizons Sing’. The first to fundraise over £200 will be offered the limited chance to abseil down the inscription if they’d like.

Should you be abseiling the main inscription wall, we would encourage you to raise a further £100, making your target £300.

Don’t fancy the abseil? Don’t worry, there will be lots of other fun activities on the ground, to be announced shortly. If you would like to donate, please visit – https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/wmccharityabseil

The 15th Anniversary Abseil Fundraiser is being run by Dave Talbot Adventure Events. For more information please visit – https://www.wmc.org.uk/en/whats-on/2019/abseil-fundraiser/
