Go To Sleep – Book review

Children’s book reviews are written with my 5 year old son.

Tansy the sheep can’t go to sleep. She’s forgotten how to do it! But when she follows the barn owl’s advice and starts counting sheep, she realises that something is wrong … The award-winning bedtime story with a humorous twist that children will love!

I have a new book, Go To Sleep, its written by Marion Adams.

This book is about a sheep named Tansy who cant go to sleep. Her mum tells her to think of things she likes to do and then she will fall asleep. But she cant! “I know how Tansy feels, I cant go to sleep sometimes, I just lay in bed some nights with my little brother asleep in the other bed. I get scared. My mum is just like Tansy’s mum, she always tells me to think of things I like, like LEGO and picnics.”

Tansy has forgotten how to fall asleep, she is still awake when her mother falls asleep and then all the sheep around her are asleep! “I don’t like being awake when everyone in the house is asleep, its scary.”

Then a wise owl tells Tansy to try and count the sheep around her. Tansy thinks its a great idea and she walks around counting all the sheep. Soon Tansy realises that one sheep is missing! Where could the missing sheep be?! Will Tansy ever find the missing sheep?!

Mummy’s thoughts
Go To Sleep is a fantastic book for little ones who find it difficult to go to sleep. Since reading the book to my sons, they tell me before I close the bedroom door that they are going to count sheep! The illustrations by Sarah-Leigh-Wills are fun and colourful.
