We attended Aliens Love Underpants Live On Stage, in exchange for an honest #Review
“Aliens love underpants, in every shape and size, but there are no underpants in space, so here’s a big surprise….”
The Welsh Mummy Blogs family are fans of the Aliens Love Underpants book, and the underpants series of books by author Claire Freedman. My boys just love the silly, colourful tales and we never tire of the fun rhyming words (even if we have read the books over a hundred times!!)
When I heard that Aliens Love Underpants Live On Stage would be showing at my local theatre, I just had to take the boys!!
As we walked up to the Coliseum we noticed it was very busy. It was busy with people of all ages, babies, toddlers, parents and grandparents were excitedly queuing to take their seats.
We picked up our tickets from the desk and then bought a sweet treat. I was very impressed with the cost of snacks and beverages. Most theatres charge over the top prices for snacks, so I was pleased to find the Coliseum had affordable treats for all.
On our way to take our seats we noticed some Aliens Love Underpants merchandise. Again, the merchandise was affordable. We had a browse at some Claire Freedman books and other items.
We took our seats. As we were waiting for the show to start an actor was in the audience handing out pants!! The audience was to hide the pants until later in the show.
When main character Timmy played by Will Taylor entered the stage the crowd went wild! From there we met Mum, played by Grace Melhuish, school friend Vee, played by Kate McKeown and Science Teacher Mr Stevens, played by Thomas Cove.
The small cast of four took on their roles with ease, each ensuring that the energetic audience was entertained, and involved with every aspect of the show. Boy oh boy were we entertained. The performance was funny, captivating and enjoyable for all. Aliens Love Underpants Live On Stage was interactive, full of memorable songs and laughter.
The children of the audience sounded like they were having lots of fun. Every time they got a glimpse of the aliens they would shout and cheer with joy. My boys didn’t stop smiling throughout the whole of the performance. When it was time for Mum and Timmy to collect the hidden underpants from the audience, everyone started laughing and got involved!
This zany and hilarious tale based on the best-selling children’s book is a must see show! It will have you laughing your PANTS off!!!
